Most Little League rules have some basis in safety; we will follow these rules to ensure the safety of our players.

  • Responsibility for safety will be that of an adult member of the league that is on the Marysville Little League Board of Directors
  • Managers, coaches and umpires will have some training in First Aid. A First Aid Kit will be provided by the league for each team to use at practices and Games. This must be present any time the team is practicing or playing a game
  • No games or practices should be held when weather or field conditions are in poor condition
  • Dugouts and bat racks should be positioned behind the screens
  • Only players, managers, coaches and umpires are permitted on the playing field during play and practices
  • Responsibility for keeping bats and loose equipment off the field is that of the team that it belongs too.
  • During practice and games, all players should be alert and watching the batter on each pitch
During warm-ups, players should be spaced so that no one is endangered by wild throws or missed catches
  • Batters must wear approved protective helmet during practice and games
Catchers must wear catching equipment at all times during practices and games
  • At no time should “horseplay” be permitted on the playing field or dugout
  • Only league approved managers and coaches are allowed to help with games and practices
  • No food or drinks are allowed in the dugouts. (Exceptions bottled water and sports drinks-no glass) Each team is responsible for cleaning out the dugout after each game or practice
  • Managers will never leave an unattended child after a practice or a game.
  • Never hesitate to report any present or potential safety hazard to the Safety Officer or a Board Member immediately
  • No medications will be taken by a player unless administered directly by the players parent
  • No swinging bats or throwing balls at any time near the concession stand or spectator areas
  • No climbing fences or on the dugout
  • Player and spectators should be alert for foul balls
  • When arriving and leaving the park, always be alert for pedestrians
  • The current year version for the Little League rule-book should be present and followed at all times
