Marysville Tournaments

9U-12U DIVISIONS

1.      Coaches are to be present with their team no later than 15 minutes prior to scheduled game. Failure to show may result in game or tournament forfeiture.

2.      Current Little League age charts will be used as verification of all ages. Copies of Birth Certificates for each player must be available if an age verification is requested

3.      Bat barrel must be no more than 2 5/8 inches in diameter (or refer to Little League rule book) and MUST have a USA Baseball stamp. All equipment must be Little League approved.

4.      The home team in all games will be determined by a coin flip. Home team is the official scorekeeper. Once the seeded tournament starts, the higher seeded team will have the choice.

5.      First base is a double base: on plays at first base the ORANGE base is for the runner and the WHITE base is for the fielder.

6.      New pitcher shall receive 7 warm up pitches, all other returning pitchers shall receive 5 pitches. A benched player with a mask may warm up the pitcher. Coaches may warm up a pitcher.

7.    No new inning may start after one hour and fifteen minutes. There is a one hour and thirty-minute DROP-DEAD time limit on all games. No player or coach shall intentionally slow down the game, any team found to intentionally slow down the game will end up with a forfeit. Forfeit will be recorded as a 10-0 score.

8.      If the DROP-DEAD time occurs and the inning has not been completed the score will revert back to the last completed inning UNLESS THE HOME TEAM HAS TIED OR TAKEN THE LEAD. In the event the home team is batting when the drop-dead time occurs and they have either tied the game or taken the lead then the RESULT STANDS and the score is final.  Please watch times we need the games to move along on schedule.

9.      A game may end in a tie in pool play. Championship games will not be played under a time limit and cannot end in a tie. Championship round games tied after six innings will be completely played out (regulation innings).

10.  All batters will start with a 0-0 count.

11.  Little League rules do not apply for position play, pitchers and catchers, no restrictions for pitchers catching and catchers pitching.

12.  A pitcher can only throw a maximum of 6 consecutive outs in any game. In the event of an extra- inning game (with time available) any pitcher who has entered the game as a pitcher can re- enter as a pitcher for an additional 3 consecutive outs. A manager/coach may call time TWICE within an inning to talk to his pitcher/defense. On the manager’s second trip to the mound in the same inning, the pitcher must be removed.

13.  Entire team roster must bat in consecutive order throughout the game. Any player absent at the start of a game must be listed as a sub and bat at the end of the line-up if they show up. Free substitutions defensively. All teams will play 9 players defensively (3 OUTFIELDERS).  All outfielders must be a minimum of 10 feet behind the infield dirt. (Exception on Field 3-larger infield)

14.  Free defensive substitutions.

15.  If your catcher of record successfully reaches base with two outs, you have the option to replace the catcher of record with the last out.  

16.  Run Rule:

    1. 15 runs after 3
    2. 10 runs after 4
    3. 8 runs after 5

17.   Each team must have eight players at game time or forfeit occurs. Forfeit will be recorded as a 10-0 score.

18.  The infield fly rule will be in effect.

19.  Drop 3rd strike is in play for 11U and 12U Divisions.

20.  Schedule and format may change due to weather conditions or for any other reason deemed necessary by the tournament directors.

21.  The winning team is responsible for reporting the score to the concession stand or text the result to Matt Hall 810-334-0877. Forfeit may result if not turned in.

22.  All umpire decisions are final. Any questions please contact the tournament officials. Officials contact information below.

23.  In case of a tie after the pool play round, the tie breaker will be as follows: 1) head-to –head, 2) Runs Allowed 3) Runs Scored 4) coin flip. 

24.  Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated. Repeated offenses will result in ejection. An ejected coach must leave the field and cannot coach their team from the field or the stands for the remainder of the game. Tournament officials may take further action for repeat offenders.

25.  If a rule has not been stated above, then you need to follow the current edition of the Little League, Inc. rulebook, regular season.

26.  No use of tobacco, cigarettes and alcoholic beverages in any form at the park during tournament play. Little League is a child friendly environment sharing these same values.

27.  Please pick up all junk/trash from your dugout after each of your games (bottles, papers, etc.).

There will be NO ARGUING with UMPIRES.  Any issues will result in Manager Removal. Managers can and will be removed as a result of PARENTS actions.

8.      Each batter will receive six (6) pitches to hit the ball. No walks and no bunting on purpose. If the ball is not hit in six pitches the batter will be called out. Three swings and misses will result in a strike out. A foul ball on the last pitch will result in an extra pitch unless caught by the catcher. The offensive team’s at-bat is complete after three (3) outs are made or a maximum of 5 runs are scored. There will be no run limit in the 6th inning.

9.      Each team must provide their own person to feed the pitching machine. The person must remain silent, no coaching allowed. One (1) warning will be given; sub sequential warnings will result in an automatic out.

10.  The pitching machine speed will be set at 40 mph, at a distance of 46 feet. The machine may be adjusted only once (1) during an inning upon the agreement of both coaches.

11.  The entire team roster must bat in a consecutive order throughout the game. Any player absent at the start of the game must be listed as a sub and bat at the end of the line-up if they show up.

12.  Each team must have at least 8 players to start a game or a forfeit occurs. A forfeit will be recorded as a 10-0 score. A team may play with four outfielders (right field, right/center field, left/center field and left field). No rover is allowed. A maximum of ten (10) players may be on the field at a time. All outfielders must be at least 10 feet from the infield dirt.

 

 

13.  The play is dead once an infielder has possession of the ball on the infield and in FAIR TERRITORY.

    1. If a runner has not reached the hash mark of the base they must return to that base.
    2. If they have advanced past the hash mark they will be awarded the next base.
    3. This is a judgement call and there will be no protesting or arguing. 
  1. A play may be made on the runner at any base if the play is not dead.
    1. A defensive play may be made on any runner and runners may advance at their own risk. Over throw rules still apply. (see rule 12)

15.  Over Throws: In the event of an overthrow, runners may attempt to advance one (1) base at their own risk.  Defense can attempt to make a play on the advancing runner(s); play will be dead after the attempt.  There is NO advancement on a 2nd over thrown ball.

16.  If a batted ball hits the pitching machine and/or operator, the ball becomes dead on contact. All runners including the batter/runner, advance one (1) base only.

17.  Bunting, stealing and advancing on a catcher’s passed balls or overthrow back to the pitcher are not permitted.

18.  The infield fly rule is NOT in effect.

19.  On field substitutions are allowed with rostered player.

20.  The player in the pitcher position must remain even with the machine throwing the ball and one foot must be on or in the circle before/prior to the pitch being pitched.
